OMX innovation · Data & Analytics · Stella visit · 29 June 2026
One programme.
Nine streams. New stack.
Lens on Snowflake. Aim: bypass intermediary providers and redeploy the savings from ceasing use of poor tools — Anaplan $200k, Profectus $150k, Sisense $150k (exit 2027). Reporting + data quality + stewardship + advanced analytics rebuilt end-to-end as nine P2 sub-projects under L1 Data Strategy. Data council established; eight project pods stood up to scope departmental needs.

The programme

Data & Analytics
end-to-end. Not just dashboards.

Context
OMX has invested in data infrastructure — Snowflake, Salesforce, Pronto — but the business experience of analytics has not kept pace. The current BI platform is expensive, underperforming (SLA at 70%), and does not meet the needs of the people who depend on it. Underlying data quality issues — broken rep codes, incorrect account hierarchies, targets on dormant accounts — mean even when reports run, people do not trust them.
Approach
Address the issue end-to-end as nine P2 sub-projects under L1 Data Strategy (live in Accelerate): Data Council & Stewardship, AI Designed Platform for Data and Analytics, Data Infrastructure and Decommissioning, Data Foundations and Mapping, Data Visualisation and Insights (Lens), Enterprise Intelligence Programs, Automated Data Onboarding, Merch Reporting, Sales Reporting. Lens is on Snowflake; the first sales dashboard is live; data models have been rebuilt with ten significant bugs fixed. Cultural shift is as material as the technology — self-serve replaces IT-mediated reports.
Outcomes
Every function has access to reliable, timely analytics they own and understand. Legacy BI retired. Reports self-serve — managers access what they need without waiting for IT. Data quality actively managed, not reactively patched. People trust the numbers because they helped shape what gets measured. Stakeholders see significant cost savings, faster decision-making, and a business that uses evidence rather than instinct.

Nine sub-projects · one umbrella
The structure

Nine streams. One owner.

01 · GOVERNANCE
Data Council and Stewardship
The governance spine. Named stewards per domain, monthly Council cadence, certification authority over KPIs and master-data changes. Resolves cross-functional data disputes.
P2 · in flight
02 · PLATFORM
AI Designed Platform for Data and Analytics
Reference platform shape — Snowflake + dbt + thin OMX UI + governed agents. The pattern every stream below inherits.
P2 · in flight
03 · INFRASTRUCTURE
Data Infrastructure and Decommissioning
Snowflake landed; legacy retired on a planned glide path (Sisense first, then Cognos). Same data, lower cost, no vendor captivity.
P2 · in flight
04 · FOUNDATIONS
Data Foundations and Data Mapping
Source-to-target mapping across Pronto, Salesforce, Snowflake. The connective tissue under every report — without this, dashboards inherit legacy ambiguity.
P2 · in flight
05 · INSIGHTS
Data Visualisation and Insights (Lens)
Lens v2 on Snowflake. First sales dashboard live; data models rebuilt with 10 significant bugs fixed. Replaces Sisense ($130k/yr reclaim from January).
P2 · live
06 · PROGRAMS
Enterprise Intelligence Programs
The cross-functional analytics programmes that sit on the platform — QBR, account & market deep-dives, Never Miss a Renewal, Briefing Room corpus.
P2 · in flight
07 · ONBOARDING
Automated Data Onboarding
New sources land enriched and classified on day one. The same pattern as product onboarding — AI-augmented intake feeding stewarded models.
P2 · in flight
08 · REPORTING
Merch Reporting
Merchandising reporting suite ported off legacy and rebuilt on the new Snowflake-native models. Helium PPSS upload loop retired (10-15 hrs/wk reclaimed).
P2 · in flight
09 · REPORTING
Sales Reporting
Sales reporting suite — manager dashboards, rep performance, pipeline. First sales dashboard already live on Lens; remainder migrating.
P2 · in flight
Authoritative list from Accelerate prod (live), in order: Data Council & Stewardship · AI Designed Platform · Data Infrastructure & Decommissioning · Data Foundations & Mapping · Lens (Data Viz & Insights) · Enterprise Intelligence Programs · Automated Data Onboarding · Merch Reporting · Sales Reporting. All P2 under L1 Data Strategy.

Where we are

The numbers we said.
The numbers today.

70%
Current BI SLA — the number escalated to leadership in the seed. The decision point that triggered the programme.
$150K/yr
Current BI platform annual cost — due for renewal. Decision point: keep paying for a tool not meeting expectations, or commit to transition.
10 fixed
Significant model bugs already fixed during the Lens rebuild. Trust-rebuild is happening in the data layer, not just the UI.
All three numbers pulled directly from the Accelerate project record (project_id 7) seed text. No extrapolation — these are the figures in the live PMO tool.

The ask

Commit to the transition.

Decision · BI renewal
The current $150K/yr BI platform is at renewal. The programme is at the decision point called out in the seed: continue paying for a tool not meeting expectations, or commit to the transition. Commit-to-transition is the recommended path.
Cultural · self-serve
Self-serve is as much a cultural shift as a technology one. Managers and teams must accept the dashboard as the answer, not the request to IT. Sponsor the change conversation — without that, Lens lands as "another tool" rather than "the new way".
Stewardship · named owners
Data quality fails without named stewards. Lock owner names per data domain (sales, merch, finance, supply chain) so issues route to a person, not an inbox. This is the cheapest, highest-leverage part of the programme.
